The student Veterans Club at Lorain County Community College is holding a Toys for Tots drive through Dec. 11. There are four boxes throughout the LCCC campus for community members to bring their donations in.

“All the toys are going to stay in Lorain County,” said Michael Weston, president of the Veterans Club at LCCC. “Lorain County has done so much for us veterans, that we want to give back to the community.”

The month-long toy drive culminates in a raffle drawing for six tickets to a Cleveland Cavaliers game. President Bill Samples of the United Auto Workers

(UAW) Local 2000 donated two tickets, the UAW Local 2000 Veterans Committee donated another two and the UAW membership donated the other two tickets.

To gain entry into the raffle for the chance to win Cavs tickets, donations must be made directly to the Student Life office on the second floor of the College Commons building. Weston is asking that donations for entry into the raffle be $10 or more. Each toy will gain one entry into the raffle.

The drawing for the winners will take place during LCCC’s Toys for Tots volleyball tournament at 5 p.m. on Dec. 12. There will be three winners, each receiving two tickets. The actual Cavs game will be on Dec. 28 against the Detroit Pistons.
