A car was stolen for the first time in three years on Oct 17. The car, a 1999 Honda Civic is one of the most popular vehicles to be stolen, according to Campus Security Director Keith Brown.

Campus security footage caught a silver Chevy SUV in parking lot 3 South where the theft occurred. The victim of the theft wasn’t sure if she locked her doors, which makes a theft more likely, according to Brown.

Lorain County Community College falls under the jurisdiction of the Elyria Police department. Campus Security is “fully cooperating with the Elyria Police on this matter,” according to a mass email sent out from the security office.

The email also states: “The Campus Security Office would like to remind our campus community members to be alert and aware of their surroundings and to report suspicious conditions to the Campus Security Office immediately at (440) 366-4053 or (440) 366-4444.”
