Duck Radio partnered with Toys for Tots to collect toys for less fortunate children In Lorain County. New, unwrapped toys can be left in drop boxes located on the main campus, inside the Duck Radio office in CC 109, and in front of Commodore Books and More. Toys will also be collected during the annual LCCC volleyball tournament.
The organization is looking for a positive turnout this holiday season although it is early and they haven’t seen many donations as of yet. “So far we haven’t had a great response, but we didn’t expect it to pick up until after Thanksgiving and leading into December,” said Jeff Traxler, program supervisor of Duck Radio.
LCCC isn’t the only location that is participating in collecting toys for children to make their holiday season a bit brighter; many local businesses are joining the cause as well. Big Lots in Elyria, and Illustrators Tattoo, also in Elyria, have boxes where toys can be dropped. More information can be found at www.toysfortots.org.
