The Outdoors Club at LCCC is gearing up for an adventure-filled fall season. Under the direction of the club’s president, Paul Henry, the club is planning three camping trips and multiple excursions to a rock-climbing wall in Cleveland.

Henry and the club’s vice president, Andrea Gromevsek, have scheduled camping trips in various locations around Ohio. This summer they went to Mohican campgrounds. Previously, the club took trips to Hocking Hills and Findlay.

The club’s rock climbing trips are scheduled in the afternoons. “We meet here at LCCC and get back from the Cleveland Rock Gym around 11 p.m.,” said Henry. The club carpools to and from the rock gym to save the members on gas money.

LCCC students can get half-price admission to the gym, according to Henry. The camping trips run from Friday night to Sunday morning. The club finds hiking and biking trails, canoe and kayaks and other activities for the members to participate in during the camping trips. The club members provide camp food, and host some lessons on how to cook by the campfire.

The Outdoors Club is also planning on a button fundraiser. The club will sell numbered buttons for $1 and the contest will be to find a matching number. The first pair of matching numbers to report back to the club will win a prize.

The Outdoor Club will be hosting a camping trip to Findlay, OH on Sept. 28 through 30. Contact Paul Henry for further information about the camping trip.

The club doesn’t hold regular meetings, but Henry can be found in his cubicle in the Student Clubhouse for students who would like more information on the events they are holding. The Outdoors Club can also be found on Facebook by searching for ‘Letsgo Outdoors.’ More information about the rock gym can be found at
